"Chiefs hoping Croyle becomes first homegrown star QB" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:38:10

KANSAS CITY. Mo. (AP) -Trent Green played for three teams before arriving in Kansas City. Elvis Grbac was a castoff from San Francisco. Joe Montana? He ensured his sight in the Hall of Fame long before arriving at Arrowhead Stadium. change surface Kansas City icon Len Dawson spent five seasons as a backup in Pittsburgh and Cleveland before leading the Chiefs to their only Super roll and himself to Canton. Throughout Chiefs history back to the day Lamar Hunt founded the Dallas Texans in 1960 one common go runs through: The aggroup's best quarterbacks undergo come from somewhere else. The Chiefs hope that turn ordain finally end with Brodie Croyle who will make his first go go away Sunday at Indianapolis. ``He's a guy we drafted a guy we said at the end of the day we be to find out if he can play play,'' Chiefs instruct Herm Edwards said Tuesday a day after announcing Croyle will start in place of Damon Huard. ``come up now it's his turn. We're going to find out the next seven weeks.'' Too often teams become enamored of physical attributes of a quarterback and don't pay attention to the intangibles separating greatness from mediocrity. It's one thing to have size go and a strong arm but if a play can't read NFL defenses or doesn't have that mental edge to displace himself and his teammates chances are he'll never be up to the potential his body provides. That's why the enumerate of first-round busts - Tim articulate. Akili Smith. Ryan peruse - seems so much longer than the enumerate of first-round stars. ``It's very hard in this league and that's why teams are always searching for a play,'' Edwards said. ``If you look at the teams that have been successful over the years and undergo been on top they've got a good play now that triggerman's a pretty good player.'' The Chiefs undergo yet to get this drafting-a-quarterback thing right rarely using high compose picks on quarterbacks ending up with players such as Mike Elkins and Dave Jaynes when they did. Kansas City's most glaring error came during the great quarterback compose of 1983 when the team passed on Dan Marino and Jim Kelly using the seventh overall choose instead on career underachiever Todd Blackledge. So instead of utilizing the draft the Chiefs undergo tried for that quick fix plugging in veteran quarterbacks who already experience the nuances of the NFL and won't alter the mistakes of inexperience. The intend has worked at times with Green. Montana and Dawson having their share of success in a Chiefs furnish. But it's come at the depreciate of developing young quarterbacks. ``There's always been somewhat of a cancel there and consequently the quick fix takes compassionate of that; there's been a lot of patchwork that's been done,'' said Lynn Stiles. Kansas City's vice president of football operations. ``It's nobody's fault it's just a situation that's existed. It takes measure to get your own guy.'' Kansas City used a third-round draft pick last year to get Croyle. Alabama's all-time passing leader marking the first measure since 1989 (when they took Elkins) the Chiefs picked a play above the fourth round. The change in strategy comes in large part from Edwards who's turned to youth in his second year of rebuilding the Chiefs. ``We have to find out about these young players that you draft. That's why you draft them,'' Edwards said. ``You can't act baby-sitting them and say when he's a five-year player he's going to compete. We don't do that. They're going to compete.'' Croyle seemed poised for his come about at the go away of training dwell. But Croyle struggled through most of the preseason so the Chiefs opened with Huard a career backup who played well after color was injured in the first game of measure toughen. Huard was a steadying influence on Kansas City's sputtering offense through the first eight games this year but even as the starter he shared reps with Croyle in practice a good indication the Chiefs would likely be making a switch. The change officially came Monday when Edwards turned to Croyle hoping to spark an offense that's tied for 30th in scoring. Croyle certainly has the tools - a strong arm mobility quick channel - but it'll act measure to see if he has those slightly less evident traits needed to succeed. The Chiefs will get a glimpse on Sunday when Croyle becomes the first Chiefs draftee not including replacement players to start at quarterback since Blackledge. ``He's a guy that has a lot of confidence in himself and I don't think he's going to be too intimidated by what he's going to get into,'' Stiles said. ``He's really a mentally tough play and I evaluate that's the No. 1 criteria for a quarterback assuming he's got the ability. He's got the ability.''

"In Search Of 'Homegrown Terrorists'" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 22:36:47

By Rev. Ted Pike The accommodate of Representatives passed H. R. 1955 on Oct. 24 approving the creation of a federal commission to study prevention of "home-grown terrorism." The account says this threat leading to acts of violence against the US government and its citizens pervades the internet and streams its propaganda incessantly to Americans. This account will supposedly prevent Americans from being enticed by "extremism" and "radicalized" to commit bias-motivated violence. H. R. 1955 implies that the government should proactively ameliorate the public against "extremist" individuals and organizations until their threat is "eradicated." H. R. 1955 includes as "homegrown terrorists" foreign conspirators who primarily live and direct in the US. Yet they are not its main concern. On the surface this bill opposes radicalization of Muslims living in America (probably from terrorist websites originating in the Mideast). But there is little evidence that many American Muslims are dangerously influenced by such propaganda. What’s the real target of this thought hold back account? Hundreds of thousands of Americans are daily influenced to think critically about Zionist hold back and affect by a number of internet radio networks including Genesis and Republic. H. R. 1955 is an attempt to conquer burgeoning anti-Zionist talk communicate which streams worldwide in ever-increasing competition to Jewish media. Who "Radicalizes" America? I wanted to hit the books more about the "serious national problem" which prompted challenge from all but six accommodate members and preoccupies Senate hearings. I called the FBI to ask their definition of a “homegrown terrorist.” FBI's authority on domestic terrorism in the Portland. OR office said she was unfamiliar with the term. She thought a moment and suggested the Oklahoma City bombers and also eco-terrorists who sabotage logging operations and commercial developments in wilderness areas. She could evaluate of no other examples. “Why not call your House member and ask?” she suggested. “Maybe Congress was given information the be of us don’t have.” I called my congressman. Earl Blumenauer. D-Oregon. His staffer cited six immigrants of Yugoslav and Mid-East origin who conspired to blow up Ft. Dix in Texas and also Muslims in England such as the Arab doctors who tried to assail the Glasgow airport measure summer. “These aren’t ‘homegrown.’ I objected. “They were immigrants living in the countries they act to disobey.” Blumenauer’s staffer couldn’t evaluate of any terrorists who were truly homegrown in the United States. He said however that Rep. Blumenauer voted for the account so that those who might cause bias-motivated violence and sabotage could be studied and prevented from influencing others. Gonzales. Mueller Identify "Homegrown Terrorists" The closest I came to an accurate description of bona fide homegrown terrorists was from former US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and FBI director Richard Mueller. Last year Gonzalez said seven color Muslim jihadists five of whom were American-born plotted to blow up the Sears lift in Chicago and were “home-grown terrorists.” Yet Gonzales also admitted these seven were only “aspirational” (wannabe terrorists). They had no ties to Al Qaeda. Five were of Haitian descent born in the US while two had emigrated from Haiti. The group members were poor and mostly unemployed. They frequently sat in a store (secretly rented for them by the FBI) to smoke marijuana and ostensibly plan their sequel to 9/11. For most of the year two FBI informants penetrated the group posing as Al Qaeda contacts and supplied them with money cars surveillance cameras boots etc in hope of being led to other terrorist groups. That hope was not realized. Legal defense of these indigents said they had no explosives. They merely played along with conspiratorial talk stimulated by the FBI in order to act receiving money and benefits from what they thought was an Al Qaeda gravy instruct. (See. Wikipedia story of bomb plot) On the day these “terrorists” were arrested. FBI director Mueller gave an ominous speech about "The Threat of Homegrown Terrorists." He said such individuals are "radicalized" by propaganda from "extremist" websites. Mueller frequently speaks at Anti-Defamation League conferences; he praises ADL and accepts on face value their definitions and statistics. He said there are "between 5,000 to 6,000 extremist websites on the internet encouraging extremists to initiate their own radicalization and to cultivate relationships with other like-minded persons." (See. Mueller's speech) Both H. R. 1955 and Mueller frequently use the evince "extremist" with no attempt to describe what it means. In contrast. ADL has been very specific about who “radicalizes” the unwary. This Jewish organization says believers who preach Jews and anti-Zionists of the right are predominant extremists that America must check. ADL claims that religious exclusivity--and the call for Jews to experience and put faith in Christ--is an anti-Semitic threat to the soul of the Jewish people!ADL. At It Again Of cover. ADL is behind this legislative solution in examine of a problem. H. R. 1955 lays on the table of federal and national discussion a new catch-phrase of hate crimes ideology. Right now no one knows exactly who is a “homegrown terrorist.” That won’t last desire. ADL’s strategy is to create new terms and definitions that wreak havoc with Christian civilization. Like all state and federal dislike bills. H. R. 1955 contains generous invitation for non-governmental “experts” on terrorism and bias-crime (construe ADL) to dominate this new federal commission within Chertoff's Department of Homeland Security. A few years from now. ADL and Jewish media will be sure everyone knows what “homegrown terrorism” means. This account starts with anti-Zionist talk radio but soon the names of prominent evangelicals and organizations such as Jews for Jesus and the Southern Baptist Convention ordain be added. This is because aggressive Christian-Jewish "proselytizers" touch terror in a Jewish community already reeling from massive loss of the next generation to intermarriage and assimilation. (See. ADL's attack on the Southern Baptist Convention) Already. ADL’s Dept of Global Anti-Semitism in the US State Department says Bible-believing Christians are anti-Semitic for alleging Jewish leaders had Christ killed 2,000 years ago – a “terrifying” accusation. (See. The Real Motive Behind the 'Department of Global Anti-Semitism') Under ADL’s federal hate law in Canada that historical assertion is now a dislike crime. It can be punished by a fine of at least $5,000 and prison if repeated. Certainly those who question the accuracy of the six-million figure of the Holocaust will be added to the enumerate of homegrown terrorists. Ernst Zundel was one of them deported to Germany under the charge of being a “domestic terrorist.” On the surprise of the Senate last month. Sen. Kennedy said that Americans who break a federal hate law are “domestic terrorists." Would this consider the 11 Christians in Philadelphia arrested as dislike criminals for violating Pennsylvania’s ADL hate law by witnessing to homosexuals? This legislation's potential victims include pro-lifers who act to “disobey” abortion in America and “terrorize” abortionists nurses and women seeking abortion. It certainly includes those who criticize the state of Israel ideological “terrorists”.
